Before your glow
Ready to glow up? To ensure a flawless tan, it's important to prep your skin beforehand. Trust us, no one wants streaky legs or an irritated tanty!
Before Your Appointment
Proper preparation is key to an even, long-lasting tan.

Hair Removal
Shave or wax at least 24 hours before your appointment to prevent irritation and ensure a smooth, even tan. If you must shave or wax on the day of your appointment, rinse with cold water afterward to close your pores and avoid a spotty tan.

Hydrate Your Skin (But Not Too Much!)
Keep your skin hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment to ensure an even tan. However, do not moisturise on the day of your tan as this can create a barrier and lead to uneven absorption. Wait until after your initial rinse to resume moisturising.

Nail Care
Book your manicures and pedicures before your tan. Our technicians will carefully wipe down your nails to prevent unwanted tan on them.

Exfoliate for a Smooth Canvas
Exfoliate 24–48 hours before your appointment to remove dead skin cells. This will help your tan apply evenly and last longer. If you are a weekly spray tanner, please ensure you exfoliate your skin more than once. Spraying new tan over old tan is not the vibe we are going for.

If your skin is peeling, wait until it has fully healed before booking your tan, as peeling skin absorbs tan unevenly and fades in patches.
For best results:
-
Soak in a warm bath for 10 minutes to soften your skin.
-
Use a soft mitt or loofah to gently exfoliate.
-
Avoid harsh chemical exfoliants or alcohol-based products, which can dry out your skin.
Clean Skin, Flawless Tan
Arrive at your appointment with clean, product-free skin. Avoid applying:
-
Moisturiser
-
Deodorant
-
Makeup
-
Perfume
These products can interfere with your tan, leading to uneven patches or discoloration.

Avoid Washing Your Hair Before Your Tan
Hair products can leave residue on your skin, which can affect how your tan develops. It’s best to wash your hair after your tan.

Timing Your Tan
For best results, schedule your spray tan 2–3 days before your event. This allows the tan to fully develop and ensures any bronzer naturally fades for a flawless finish.

During Your Appointment
Now that you’re prepared, here’s what to expect during your spray tan session.
Do Not Touch Your Skin

After your tan is applied, your skin will be sticky while it develops. Avoid touching your skin to prevent leaving marks or fingerprints in your tan.

Wear Loose Clothing
Tight clothing can cause rubbing and lead to uneven development. Opt for dark, loose-fitting clothing and avoid wearing a bra or tight underwear immediately after your tan.

Standing Position & Drying Time
Our technician will guide you through the correct positions to ensure even coverage. Once your tan is applied, you’ll need a quick dry-off before you can get dressed.

After Your Appointment
To maintain your tan and ensure even fading, follow these aftercare steps.

Wash and Wear Time
Your tan needs to develop before rinsing. Follow the specific rinse-off time provided by your technician—typically between 30 minutes to 4 hours. Leaving it on too long can cause the tan to over-process and appear darker than intended.

Avoid Peeing in the Shower
Urine is acidic and can strip or streak your tan, especially in a warm, steamy environment. To maintain a flawless finish, avoid peeing in the shower after your tan.

Hydrate Your Skin
Once you’ve done your initial rinse, keep your skin moisturised daily to extend the life of your tan. Hydrated skin helps prevent patchy fading.

Avoid Exfoliation & Harsh Products
Do not exfoliate or use harsh soaps for at least 5–7 days after your tan. These can strip your tan prematurely.

Sensitive Skin? No Problem!
Our organic-based tanning solutions are designed for sensitive skin, containing natural, hydrating ingredients like aloe vera, coconut water, and botanical extracts. They are free from parabens, sulfates, and artificial dyes, making them a safer option for individuals with eczema or psoriasis.

Tanning While Pregnant or Breastfeeding
We use natural, vegan, paraben-free, and cruelty-free tanning solutions. For breastfeeding mothers, we provide breast pads to prevent tanning in unwanted areas. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before booking a spray tan.

What to Do If Your Tan Starts Peeling or Fading Unevenly
If your tan starts to fade unevenly, it may be due to dry or peeling skin or incorrect prep.
To prevent this in future applications:
-
Stay hydrated – Moisturised skin holds a tan longer.
-
Exfoliate gently before your next appointment – Ensure an even base.
-
Book your tan at the right time – Avoid tanning over sunburn or peeling skin.
